Audemars Piguet
at the 11th SIHH 2001 in Geneva
(Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie)

The 11th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), exclusively for fine watchmaking professionals and the press, will take place in Geneva from 27 March to 3 April 2001.
This year the complex watches that Audemars Piguet is famous for will be
taking centre stage, with a catalogue "As Time Goes By, The Art of Complex Watches" and a travelling exhibition dedicated to the theme. Visitors to the show will also be able to catch a preview of the four latest Audemars Piguet creations, including a world premiere in the form of the Jules Audemars Métropolis Perpetual Calendar watch.

World first Jules Audemars Metropolis Perpetual Calendar

How to determine local time anywhere on the face of the earth? With a time-zone map, or simply by glancing at your Jules Audemars Metropolis Perpetual Calendar watch. The Jules Audemars Metropolis Perpetual Calendar is the first watch ever to combine a perpetual calendar with a display of local time in the planet's twenty-four time zones.
The movement
The Jules Audemars Metropolis Perpetual Calendar watch is built around calibre 2120, an extra-thin selfwinding construction: 12 1/2 lines across, a 28-mm casing diameter and a thickness of 2.45 mm only, including rotor - rising to 4 mm when fitted with the new 2804 sub-assembly module's perpetual calendar and universal-time display.

Calibre : 2120/2804 selfwinding
Diameter : 12,5 lines (28 mm)
Thickness : 4 mm
42 jewels
423 parts and components

New Audemars Piguet calibre Jules Audemars Calendar Watch with Power-Reserve Indicator
The round Jules Audemars case holds a new horological marvel, the 3090/3900 calibre with analogue date calendar, subdial for the seconds and power-reserve indicator.
Featuring a "Côtes de Genève" decorative pattern, the new Jules Audemars' dial shields the latest entry in Audemars Piguet's calibre array, the 3090/3900. It reflects the company's longstanding policy of designing and building exclusive movements ever more fully representative of its traditions of excellence.

Power reserve
The new Jules Audemars timepiece's power reserve is shown on a sectoral indicator with the pointer axis positioned between 1 and 2 o'clock. Calibre 3090/3900 runs for more than two days without rewinding. However, its rate precision suffers when the mainspring becomes practically slack. But the movement will run at an optimum rate if the watch is rewound before the power-reserve pointer reaches the last quarter of the indicator.

Calibre : 3090/3900 hand wound
Diameter : 9 lines (20,8 mm)
Thickness : 4,10 mm

An outstanding new timepiece for extreme situations
Rubber-clad Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph
Audemars Piguet has now issued a superb luxury timepiece designed for extreme sports, featuring a rubber-clad bezel. New materials are part of the daily challenge for the stylists of a watch manufacturer with over a century's experience at exploring new design directions. Here, the challenge was to ensure optimum adherence of rubber to a steel bezel; a special process now provides a definitive solution.

Perfectionism inside and out
The Royal Oak Offshore movement is rhodium-plated, finished with a "Côtes de Genève" decorative pattern and circular-grained.
The case features classic Royal Oak offshore finish: bevelling, brush-finishing, frosting and lapping, while its dial displays the new "Extra Grande Tapisserie" decorative pattern.

Calibre : 2226/2840 selfwinding

New Promesse
The very success of its Promesse line incited Audemars Piguet to design a new watch with a slimmer case that provides perfect wearing comfort on even the slenderest wrist. The new Promesse comes with a variety of matching rings, pendants and earrings. In tune with a fresh new century and a new Millennium, Audemars Piguet is fleshing out its range of timepieces specifically designed for women.

Matching jewellery
The new Promesse comes with a variety of matching rings, pendants and earrings. In their invisible settings, diamonds and large gemstones provide a touch of opulence, in striking contrast to the watch's quietly understated dial.
