Officine Panerai
at the 11th SIHH 2001 in Geneva
(Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie)

Radiomir 40mm in pink gold
Originally created in 1938 for the Italian Navy, the Radiomir was the first water-resistant military watch in history.
The reinforced case, the quality and accuracy of the movement, the legibility of the dial resulting from its large size and the luminosity provided by the special patented Radiomir paint are the features which enabled it to play a starring role in the many heroic exploits carried out by men who wore it. Consequently it became renowned in the world of collectors and auction sales for its originality and its great rarity.

Preserving the original period shape and the characteristics of reliability and strength of its forebear, this year the Radiomir is offered in a pink gold version with a case 40mm in diameter. Based on this watch are several versions set with brilliant-cut diamonds, specially adapted for the feminine world.
The automatic mechanical movement is the exclusive Panerai OP VII calibre, transformed, finished and personalised according to the special standards and requirements of Panerai Haute Horlogerie, and certified by C.O.S.C. for its accuracy.
The sapphire crystal see-through back enables the movement's quality of finish to be observed, as well as the movement in operation.
The dial is black with luminous Arabic numerals at the quarters and 8 markers in pink gold. The cone-shaped screw-down crown is personalised Panerai, and ensures water-resistance to a depth of 100 metres.
The strap is made from selected alligator leather and it is fitted with a pink gold buckle, personalised Panerai.
A watch born in the Panerai Workshop where ideas are transformed and made into professional instruments for measuring time.
The 11th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), exclusively for fine watchmaking professionals and the press, will take place in Geneva from 27 March to 3 April 2001.
This year the complex watches that Audemars Piguet is famous for will be taking centre stage, with a catalogue "As Time Goes By, The Art of Complex Watches" and a travelling exhibition dedicated to the theme. Visitors to the show will also be able to catch a preview of the four latest Audemars Piguet creations, including a world premiere in the form of the Jules Audemars Métropolis Perpetual Calendar watch.
